Powwows.dk is a purely private initiative. The homepage is sponsored by the Copenhagen powwow committee and the editoral part is driven by four Danish powwow-enthusiasts. We have all been dancing and singing for several years and have been to powwows in the USA.

We wish to inform about powwows as an important part of modern Native American way of life. Many people still think that Native Americans live in teepees and dress as they did a hundred years ago, and by making this information available to Europeans we hope to share our respect for the Native American culture and help educate people and make them realize that the Native American culture is alive and well.
